Laaka von Laer is a gorgeous 9 month old red and black AKC German Shepherd. Her prior owner relinquished her to the rescue because she couldn’t show this well-bred puppy with the floppy ears – but we think her ears are an absolute showstopper!  Laaka encompasses all the other quintessential looks and temperament of her breed: her sleek, well-muscled appearance is stamped with the look of nobility, while her effortless gait is smooth and rhythmic and rivals the finest show dogs we’ve seen. She also displays a keenly alert temperament and sense of loyalty.  She will thrive in an experienced GSD home that understands and appreciates her intelligence, athleticism, and protective instincts.  She is well-socialized with other dogs, engaging in fun play with her foster brother, and very happy to meet other dogs she encounters on a neighborhood walk.  She warmed up quickly to her foster family, preferring to be alongside them above all else.  Don’t bother setting your home alarm with Laaka in the house – she knows before RING does when a someone comes knocking! She may take some time, though, to warm up to visitors, although with training and maturity we are confident that she will relax with your houseguests.   She is 100% housebroken and sleeps quietly all night in her crate.  Laaka has so many wonderful qualities, we think it’s a blessing that she will find a home with someone who appreciates her adorable ears! She’s available to adopt into a loving home with or without other dogs.
